Body sustainability: the secret to eternal youth is within your grasp

Close your eyes.

Picture yourself feeling strong and flexible. Your posture is firm but relaxed. You’re no body-builder, but your muscles are toned. You feel good about yourself – comfortable in your own skin. You’re free of pain and you’re confident that your body will do what you ask of it every day.

Now open your eyes and look at yourself in the mirror. Is your body in the right shape to take you forward and help you live the life you want to live? Or do you think you need to work a little more to create a strong, healthy body that matches your clear, focused mind?

Mirror mirror, tell me

Use it or lose it. There’s no escaping the facts.

Moving freely, with flexibility and ease, is something we do naturally when we’re young. As we age, our body responds to our environment. We develop bad habits.

Many people become sedentary. Sitting at a desk for a living affects our posture. It’s no way to maintain a flexible body. Without the right support, we’re prone to injury. We find ourselves spending time and money on physiotherapy other expensive treatments. Worse still, we start to rely on taking painkillers just to get through the day. To slow down this deterioration, we need to make an effort to build-up our frame, countering the damage to muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Start creating the body you need for life

Regular physical exercise can help turn back to clock. It can help prevent or reduce the risk of premature ageing and death. Building strength, flexibility and fitness helps us avoid depending on medicine to prop-up our neglected bodies in the following ways:

  • Reduces the risk of heart disease

  • Reduces the risk of diabetes

  • Reduces the risk of developing high blood pressure and helps relieve blood pressure issues in those who have developed a problem

  • Reduces feelings of depression and anxiety and supports our psychological well-being

  • Helps with weight control

  • Promotes a better quality of sleep

Why Pilates is ideal for creating the body you need for a good life?

For me, Pilates is the key to fluid movement and innate body strength. Pilates was created to help you create the support you need to move through life. Through a whole range of exercises, the Pilates method works from the outside in. Though it may take a little while to build up your flexibility and strength, the benefits are long-term.

It’s been specially developed to support people who may be experiencing chronic pain as a result of wear and tear or injury. All it takes is a little regular practice and guidance. Together, we can create the body you need to meet the everyday challenges of life.

Let’s start creating a strong, flexible you today!
